sustainable aluminum frames

Frameworks Manufacturing does not only offer top-of-the-line aluminum framing systems, but products that solve your sustainable building challenges. Our aluminum products are LEED contributing because aluminum is a material that can be readily recycled and repurposed. Some of our applicable credits are listed below:

Energy & Atmosphere (EA) Prerequisite 2 – Minimum Energy Performance
Establishes the minimum level of energy efficiency for the proposed building and systems to reduce environmental and economic impacts associated with excessive energy use.

Energy & Atmosphere (EA) Credit 1 – Optimize Energy Performance
This credit verifies our products increase levels of energy performance beyond the prerequisite standard to reduce environmental and economic impacts associated with excessive energy use.

Materials & Resources (MR) Credit 1.2 – Building Reuse – Maintain Existing Interior Non-Structural Elements
Extends the life cycle of existing building stock, conserve resources, retain cultural resources, reduce waste and reduce environmental impacts of new buildings as they relate to materials manufacturing and transport.

Materials & Resources (MR) Credit 4 – Recycled Content
The increased demand for building products that incorporate recycled content materials helps Frameworks reduce the impacts resulting from extraction and processing of virgin materials. Using materials with recycled content such that the sum of post-consumer recycled content plus ½ of the pre-consumer content constitutes at least 10% or 20%, based on cost, of the total value of the materials in the project. The recycled content value of a material assembly is determined by weight. The recycled fraction of the assembly is then multiplied by the cost of assembly to determine the recycled content value.

Materials & Resources (MR) Credit 5 – Regional Material
The increased demand for building materials and products that are extracted and manufactured within the region supports Frameworks using indigenous resources and reducing the environmental impacts resulting from transportation. Using building materials or products that have been extracted, harvested, recovered or manufactured within 500 miles of the project site decreases a minimum of 10% or 20%, based on cost, of the total materials value.

Materials & Resources (MR) Credit 6 – Rapidly Renewable Materials
Frameworks reduces the use and depletion of finite raw materials and long-cycle renewable materials by replacing them with rapidly renewable materials. Using rapidly renewable building materials and products decreases the total value of all building materials and products used in the project, based on cost, by 2.5%. Rapidly renewable building materials and products are made from plants that are typically harvested within a 10-year or shorter cycle.
